31. anniversary actions “Plitvice”

Dana 31. March 2022. year on Plitvice was marked 31. anniversary actions “Plitvice” and the death of the first Croatian police officer, Josip Jović. Through the words of the moderator, the gathered at the place of commemoration remembered the course of the action better known as “Bloody Easter”. Josip Jovic is on Easter 31. March 1991. in the early morning hours lost his young life defending freedom, democracy and territorial integrity of the Republic of Croatia. This tragic event from the beginning of the Homeland War remained deeply recorded in the consciousness of the Croatian people.

The last farewell of Colonel General Đuro Dečak, President of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War of the Republic of Croatia

At the City Cemetery in Virovitica 04. April 2022. The, with military honors, the last farewell of Colonel General Đuro Dečak was held. To the last resting place, with family and friends, he was accompanied by his comrades-in-arms and numerous hunters from all parts of Croatia.
The last farewell was also attended by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Croatian Veterans Tomo Medved, Minister of Defense Mario Banožić, Minister of Agriculture Marija Vuckovic, Member of Parliament Josip Đakić, Virovitica-Podravina County Prefect Igor Andrović, Mayor of Virovitica Ivica Kirin, and many others past and present, civilian and military officials.
On behalf of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian General Assembly, retired Croatian General Colonel Slavko Barić spoke in selected words at the funeral., and Miroslav Buneta in front of HLS. Branka Pavelić Lainson sent her last greetings to Đuro Dečak on behalf of the Croatian Singing Society "Rodoljub" from Virovitica.
The last farewell was led by the Military Ordinary Msgr. Jure Bogdan, with the guardian of the Parish of St.. Smoke from. Bernard Barbarić, police chaplain Rev.. Ozren Bizek and the Dean of the Virovitica Deanery, Rev.. Ivica Shoha, who read the condolences of the Bishop of Požega, Msgr. Antun Škvorčević.

Commemoration of Colonel General Đuro Dečak held at the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War of the Republic of Croatia

In Zagreb in Galovićeva 12, dana 04. 04. 2022. in 11,0 A commemoration was held for the late longtime President of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War of the Republic of Croatia, Colonel General Đuro Dečak.
The commemoration was attended by the Vice Presidents, Presidents of the Branches of the Association and representatives of the Republic Coordination of Associations from the Homeland War "Dr.. Franjo Tudjman ", former Minister of Croatian Veterans Ivica Pančić, Colonel General Slavko Baric, and many other friends and associates with whom he collaborated throughout his life.
Secretary of the UDVDR RH Zvonko Marić addressed the audience, Marija Dujić on behalf of the Republic Coordination of Homeland War Associations "Dr.. Franjo Tudjman ", and Colonel General Slavko Baric. The speakers said goodbye to the president and a dear friend with warm and emotional words.
After the commemoration, all those present signed the book of condolences, which was opened in the premises of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War of the Republic of Croatia., Zagreb, Galovićeva 12.

Commemorative gathering, with the family, an envoy of the Prime Minister was present, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Croatian Veterans Tomo Medved, Minister of Defense Mario Banožić, envoy of the President of the Croatian Parliament, Member of Parliament Josip Đakić, Member of Parliament Vesna Bedeković, Virovitica-Podravina County Prefect Igor Andrović, Požega-Slavonia County Prefect Antonija Jozić, Mayor of Virovitica Ivica Kirin, representatives of associations from the Homeland War and the Croatian Hunting Association and other officials, friends, colleagues and acquaintances.
The Chief of Staff spoke at the meeting, also deputy commander 127. HV Brigade Marko Krstanovic, Anto Krišto, President of the former Crisis Staff for the former municipality of Virovitica, Vice President of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War Siniša Pavlović, Secretary of the Croatian Hunting Association Ivica Budor, Mayor of Virovitica Ivica Kirin, Virovitica-Podravina County Prefect Igor Andrović, Member of Parliament Josip Đakić and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Veterans' Affairs Tomo Medved.

In memoriam Colonel General Đuro Dečak (1952.-2022.)

In great pain and sorrow we announce that it is us 01. April 2022. in 71 years, after a short and severe illness, our dear Đuro Dečak left forever, Croatian volunteer and retired colonel general.
At the very beginning of the war, he organized Homeland War volunteers to defend the Homeland. He was the commander of the Pakrac sector, at 127. Virovitica Brigades. In 1992. becomes chief 2. Đakovo Military District. He also served as a Member of Parliament, President of the Parliamentary Committee for War Veterans and Prefect of Virovitica-Podravina County. Until the very end of his professional and life path, he was the president of the Croatian Hunting Association and the president of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War of the Republic of Croatia.. For exceptional contribution to the creation of the war strategy and military doctrine of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, and for special merits and successes in leading and commanding units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, President Zoran Milanovic decorated him in January 2021. Velered of King Petar Krešimir IV with ribbon and Danica. He was also awarded a number of other high medals of the Republic of Croatia. For exceptional contribution to the creation of the war strategy and military doctrine of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, and for special merits and successes in leading and commanding units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, President Zoran Milanovic decorated him in January 2021. With his loss, we lost a great friend. Always modest and driven by a sense of responsibility, behind his restrained exterior lurked, in fact, great sensitivity. His work and interest have always been directed towards Croatian veterans and members of their families with whom he was so inextricably linked.. So we thank him for everything he has done. We will never forget you - because the respect and love you so selflessly shared remains.

The final funeral of the dear deceased will be held on Monday, 04. 04. 2022. at the local cemetery in Virovitica.
The commemoration will be held on Sunday, 03.04.2022. in the House of the Croatian Army in Virovitica in 11,00 o'clock.
